About The Project

packaging Ottawa's heritage

This project involved creating two original craft beer labels inspired by Ottawa’s rich history and culture. Using Dominion City and their existing brand identity as a foundation, I designed visually compelling packaging that reflects Ottawa's values and our Indigenous foundation.

GOAL AND PURPOSE

crafting impactful labels

The goal of this project was to develop beer labels that both celebrate Ottawa's heritage and resonate with the brewery’s target audience. Through bold, creative visuals, the designs elevate the product’s shelf appeal while honoring the brewery's commitment to local craft

THE PROCESS

Every step matters.

The can design followed the same process as every design project

- Thorough Research
- Sketches
- Outside Feedback
- Digitalization
- More Feedback and More Revisions
- The Final Presentation

The process ensured that the final product aligned with values and aesthetics of Indigenous culture in Canada.

FINAL OUTCOME AND REFLECTION

A step up.

Looking back, I’m very pleased with this project, as it allowed me to grow both illustratively and in design by introducing new challenges. Although my submission wasn’t selected as a winner, its quality was acknowledged by the union, which was incredibly rewarding for me—especially since it marked the first design I created outside of my educational work.
